Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that PS5 sales have surpassed a whopping 10 million units worldwide as of 18 July 2021. This marks a significant milestone, making the PlayStation 5 the fastest-selling console in the history of the PlayStation.

It’s important to note that it’s only been 249 days (less than a year) since the PS5 initially launched on 12 November 2021. The company also announced sales numbers for some of its first-party titles:

• Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales (PS5, PS4) – 6.5 million.
• MLB The Show 21 (PS5, Xbox Series, PS4, Xbox One) – Two million (over four million players).
• Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (PS5) – 1.1 million.
• Returnal (PS5) – 560,000.

In a statement, Sony Interactive Entertainment Global Sales and Business Operations SVP Veronica Rogers said:

Looking ahead, the lineup of exclusive games coming from PlayStation Studios includes a new God Of War from Santa Monica Studios, Gran Turismo 7 from Polyphony Digital, and Horizon Forbidden West from Guerrilla Games. Some of the highly anticipated games from SIE’s partners include Battlefield 2042 from Electronic Arts, DEATHLOOP from Bethesda, Far Cry 6 From Ubisoft, and Kena: Bridge of Spirits from Ember Lab.
