New Pixar Trailer For Turning Red Is A-Mei-Zingly Adorable & Dorky
By Jonathan Toyad|November 17, 2021|0 Comment
Pixar just dropped the official trailer for its new 3D animated film Turning Red, which is about an Asian 13-year old girl named Mei Lee (voiced by Rosalie Chiang) who can transform into a giant red panda when she gets too excited. Or anxious. Which is basically almost every day in her life because being a teenager in the 90s has its own sets of issues and quirks.
It’s clearly a metaphor for teenagers hitting puberty, with a narrative nod on how Asian kids have to deal with living with tiger moms, which in this context is voiced by Sandra Oh. The film’s coming out on 11th March, 2022. Here’s the trailer, complete with boy band music which actually makes sense given the 90s boyband craze back in the day. Before the Koreans took over and all that.
