Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Announced, Coming In Late 2022

During a Pokémon Presents live stream earlier today, the Pokémon Company has officially announced the ninth generation of the franchise. The new titles are Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, which is slated to arrive sometime in late 2022 for the Nintendo Switch.

According to the official website, these are the English names for the new starters:

Both games are described as open-world games, which means that they will likely be similar to Pokemon Legends Arceus.

The developer also gave us our first look at the main characters of both games.
