[Report] Sony’s Answer To Xbox Game Pass Will Be Announced “As Early As Next Week”

A Bloomberg report has revealed that Sony’s game subscription service, codenamed Spartacus, will be revealed as early as next week.

Spartacus is supposed to be Sony Interactive Entertainment’s answer to Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass, featuring a “splashy lineup of hit games from recent years”. Spartacus will be a combination of PlayStation Now and PlayStation Plus, allowing customers to choose from multiple tiers offering catalogs of modern games and classic titles from older PlayStation eras.

The highest tier will allow players to check out extended game demos and the ability to stream games online. The PlayStation service may not offer the same “all new titles on same day” feature like Xbox Game Pass though. Guess we’ll have to wait and see how the internet reacts to this next week, provided the report comes true. Still, it is nice that old PS1 and PS2 titles can see the light of day on new hardware like the PS4 and the ever-elusive PS5.
