The latest Dungeon & Dragons news for computer RPG fans may be less ideal for some.

According to developer Larian, its upcoming CRPG Baldur’s Gate 3 will only be out sometime in 2023. This was made official in a recent D&D Direct event livestream. Here’s an excerpt of that confirmation:

“By the Nine Hell, we’ve added a lot of great stuff already. And there’s more where that came from. So join us in early access on our journey to Baldur’s Gate 3, or come along in 2023 when the game releases.”

 

Previously, Larian Studios said the game would be out in late 2022. Chalk that up to the usual game development creed of not rushing a product just for a deadline. For more on Larian Studios and how it works with its Malaysia offshoot, check out the exclusive interview video below.
