Happy Labour Day: Our Favourite Workers In Video Games

StarCraft’s Worker Units

In space, no one can hear you steal ideas from Warhammer 40k. But that’s ok, because people like StarCraft more anyway and it put Blizzard on the map. All those cool units like Hydralisks, Colossis, and Battleships? They can’t be produced unless you build up your tech tree fast. And you need your worker units to get that sorted.

The Terran’s SCVs, Protos’ probe, and Zerg’s drones are your base economy units who help mine resources and build structures to get your army going. They all play differently according to their faction’s style; the SCV plays differently compared to the Probe’s “summoning buildings” ability. Like their WarCraft counterparts, they have their own quips if you click on them too many times.
