Assassin’s Creed Rift May Be Set In Baghdad
Ubisoft, the company that’s known for Assassin’s Creed and possibly sending one of their big projects off to publicly die in November, will set the next Assassin’s Creed game in Baghdad.
Allegedly, that is. This is according to Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier who responded to an earlier claim online that the next setting in the AC series will be set in the Aztec.
“The next AC game is Rift, which is set in Baghdad. After that will be AC Infinity.”
Assassin’s Creed Infinity will feature a bunch of different biomes, but neither this nor Rift will have an Aztec setting. While it’s not officially announced, Ubisoft plans to release a smaller-scale stealth-focused AC game either later this year or in 2023. 2023 seems likely, as they have a pirate game they want to get out of the doorway before the Singapore government comes a-knocking with a lawsuit.
Assassin’s Creed Rift will be out before AC Infinity, with the latter being a collaboration between Ubisoft Montreal and Quebec. AC Rift will star AC Valhalla character Basim and was supposed to be a Valhalla DLC before it became its own game. In either case, expect to hear more official news in September during the company’s Assassin’s Creed-focused showcase.
