Malaysia’s Passion Republic Helped With The Cat Rigging For Stray
The PC and PlayStation indie adventure title Stray from Bluetwelve and Annapurna Interactive allows you to control a cat through an underground robot slum, figuring out the mysteries within. Naturally, the cat in the game needs to be well-animated and look good doing all the cat-like things and grace it exudes. So what better way to do this than to set up a cat rig that’s fit for the job, especially with Malaysia’s finest?
According to the end credits of Stray, Malaysian game studio Passion Republic are responsible for the cat rig for Stray’s main orange protagonist.

The company is no stranger to giving assistance to major company projects, from Nintendo’s Astral Chain to Bandai Namco’s Elden Ring and Square Enix’s Babylon’s Fall in the animation, concept, modeling, and tech department. So yeah, score one for Malaysia’s home-grown talent for making the star of Stray animate with purrfection.
Stray is slated for PC and PlayStation consoles on 19th July. If you want to get the cat backpack that’s tied to the game, head here.
