VCT Challengers APAC Playoffs – Stage 2: Teams & Schedule

With the VCT Challengers APAC Stage 2 main events well underway means we can look forward to the APAC Playoffs Stage 2!

WE DID A RUNDOWN OF ALL THE DOMESTIC LEAGUES

Over the past month, hundreds of teams from across Southeast Asia have been engaged in local tournaments around the region for a chance to compete at the upcoming pan-regional event in June.

The two top teams from the APAC Playoffs Stage 2 will be given a direct invitation to represent the APAC region at Masters 2, VCT’s 2nd and final global tournament of the year.

Teams who have not qualified to Masters 2 will still have a chance to compete for a spot at Champions through the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) scheduled in early August. More details about the LCQ will be shared closer to the date so stay tuned!

Regional allocations for the upcoming Challengers APAC Playoffs Stage 2 in June are split across a 20-team competitive format. Seeds are determined by the size of the competitive player base in each region.

QUALIFIED TEAMS

  • Thailand – XERXIA, FW Esports, Made in Thailand (MiTH)
  • Philippines – Team Secret, Oasis Gaming, Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ)
  • Indonesia – ONIC Esports, Alter Ego, BOOM Esports
  • Vietnam – Fancy United Esports, Cerberus Esports, Team Big Baam
  • Singapore/Malaysia – Paper Rex, Gaimin Gladiators (formerly LaZe), Bleed Esports
  • Taiwan/Hong Kong – Griffin E-Sports, Ghetto Artist
  • South Asia – TBD, TBD
  • Oceania – Order

TOURNAMENT FORMAT & DATES

  • Play-ins: 9-12 June
    • Format: 8 teams will play in GSL format. 4 successful teams will proceed to the next stage.
  • Groups: 15-20 June
    • Format: 16 teams will play in GSL format. 8 successful teams will proceed to the knockout stage.
  • Knockouts & Finals: 23-26 June
    • Format: 8 teams will go through a series of double elimination brackets. The final 2 teams will be invited to Masters 2.

The tournament starts at 11:00 AM (GMT+8) each day.
