Renowned Godzilla Director Kazuki Omori Has Died

Kazuki Omori, best known for his directorial work on the monster movie classic Godzilla vs Biollante, has passed away. He was 70.

According to the Director’s Guild of Japan, he passed away on Tuesday at the Hy?go College of Medical Hospital on 12th November due to acute myeloid leukaemia. A private funeral was held with his close relatives, with a public one to be announced at a later date.

Not only did Kazuki Omori direct Godzilla vs Biollante in 1989, but he also directed Godzilla vs King Ghidorah in 1991 and wrote Godzilla and Mothra in 1992 and Godzilla vs Destoroyah in 1995.

He also directed the 2000 anime The Boy Who Saw The Wind, which looks like a decent watch if you’re into anime films from that period of time.
