Firaxis Officially Announces Sid Meier’s Civilization 7
By Alleef Ashaari|February 17, 2023|0 Comment
Firaxis Games has officially announced that Civilization 7 is in development. Civ 7 or Civilization VII will be the sequel to 2016’s Civilization VI or Civilization 6.
They also announced that former COO Heather Hazen will be the new studio head. However, no other details have been announced.
In a press release, Hazen said:
“I’m thrilled to have this opportunity to carry on the studio’s storied legacy, beginning with the announcement that Firaxis is in development on the next iteration of the legendary Civilization franchise. I’m lucky to be working with some of the best developers in our industry, and we have plans to take the Civilization franchise to exciting new heights for our millions of players around the world. In addition, we will continue to support Marvel’s Midnight Suns with post-launch content, and explore new creative projects for our teams.”
Firaxis is also best known for XCOM Enemy Unknown and XCOM Enemy Within, as well as XCOM 2 and the recent Marvel’s Midnight Suns (check out our review here).
Civilization 7 is probably years away, but fans will be happy to know that it’s officially coming. Sid Meier’s Civilization franchise is a legendary strategy game series, and it will continue to be so.
