Revenant Esports Represent India At Pokémon UNITE Asia Champions League Finals 2023

Revenant Esports has qualified for the Pokémon UNITE Asia Champions League in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. They’re the second team from India to make it to the finals, and they put on a solid performance on the final day of the India Qualifier to earn their spot.

The India Qualifier was hosted by Skyesports, a major esports tournament organizer in South Asia, and it ran from 8 January to 19 February with a prize pool of US$8,500.

Revenant Esports will be flying out to Malaysia on 18 and 19 March, where they’ll compete against the best teams from Southeast and East Asia. The winner of the tournament will take home US$30,000, so there’s a lot at stake.

“We were one of the first Indian organizations to recognize the potential of Pokemon UNITE in the country and invested into it,” said Rohit Jagasia, the founder of Revenant Esports. “After representing India last year in the World Championship, I am proud of our boys for qualifying for the Pokémon UNITE Asia Champions League LAN Final in Malaysia despite faltering in the group stage. We are super pumped to have been able to represent our country twice in the same title and we are highly committed to invest in Pokémon UNITE in the future as well.”

Revenant’s journey to the finals was pretty impressive. They had a rocky start, losing their first three matches and finishing last in the Group Stage. But they made an amazing comeback in the playoffs, beating Gods Reign, True Rippers, and S8UL Esports to make it to the Grand Final.

In the Grand Final, they faced Marcos Esports, who were a tough opponent. But Revenant kept their winning streak going and took down Marcos Esports 2-1 in a best-of-three series to become the champions of India.

“We had a really rocky start to the India qualifier and lost some crucial matches to finish in last at the group stage,” said Jeet “Swifty” Kundra, one of Revenant Esports’ Pokémon UNITE players. “Luckily, the tournament’s format allowed us to compete in the Playoffs as well. We returned to the drawing board, worked really hard, analyzed our mistakes, and have completed a dream comeback. It feels really great to become the Indian champions again and we look forward to representing the country in Kuala Lumpur.”

Revenant Esports won US$5,000 for their victory in the India Qualifier, while Marcos Gaming received US$2,500 and S8UL Esports got US$1,500.
