Streamer Disguised Toast’s VALORANT Team Signs yay

After long last, VALORANT’s El Diablo makes his return to competitive VALORANT after weeks of suspense and silence.

That’s right, Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker has finally confirmed his plans for the VCT 2023 season. In an exciting reveal on 10 April, streamer Jeremy “Disguised Toast” Wang announced that yay will be joining his VALORANT team, Disguised (DSG) to fill the gap left by Drake “Exalt” Branly’s departure midseason.

At first, Toast had made an April Fools joke about dropping his entire roster to make way for yay, which had fans wondering whether the move was real or not. But to everyone’s surprise, it turned out to be partly true! Disguised Toast released a fun announcement video featuring himself, Sentinels streamer Tarik “tarik” Celik, and yay.

To celebrate the news, Disguised Toast even hosted a friendly match on Twitch, pitting pros tarik and yay against a team of “noobs” that included fellow streamers LilyPichu, Sykkuno, Hasan, TinaKitten, and Disguised Toast himself.

With yay on board, the current Disguised roster for VCT Challengers North America: Split 2 includes

  • Joseph “clear” Allen
  • Amgalan “Genghsta”Nemekhbayar
  • Joshua “steel” Nissan
  • Damion “XXiF” Cook
  • Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker

There’s no doubt that yay is a force to be reckoned with in the world of Valorant esports. He’s known for his impressive firepower and is considered one of the top players for Riot Games’ tactical shooter. He made a name for himself with OpTic Gaming in VCT 2022 and as part of Team Envy in VCT 2023.

Unfortunately, yay’s dreams for VCT 2023 were briefly shattered when he was dropped from the Cloud9 professional roster due to financial and role issues. Fans were understandably concerned about his future in the ongoing season.

Meanwhile, Disguised qualified for the first split of VCT Challengers North America through open qualifiers and dominated against competitors like Oxygen Esports and OR Esports. However, they faced challenges in the first split after Exalt’s departure. Although substitute Chris “riku” Piasecki stepped up to fill his role, the team fell short of expectations for the rest of the split and the Mid-Season Faceoff.

But with yay on their side, Disguised is now one of the strongest teams in the North American non-pro circuit and could soon take the lead in Ascension. Let’s see what they bring to the table in their upcoming debut in VCT Challengers North America: Split 2, starting on April 18, 2023!
