Activision and Toys For Bob have announced that the Spyro Reignited Trilogy has sold more than 10 million units worldwide to date. The collection, which includes remakes of Spyro The Dragon, Spyro 2 Ripto’s Rage!, and Spyro Year Of The Dragon, was originally launched for PS4 and Xbox One in November 2018, followed by Nintendo Switch and PC in September 2019.

This news is notable for coming hot on the heels of the Spyro franchise’s upcoming 25th anniversary on Saturday, 9 September 2023. Perhaps Activision and Toys For Bob will be announcing a brand new Spyro game?

The last Spyro game was The Legend Of Spyro Dawn Of The Dragon for the PS2, PS3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii back in 2008, which was a whopping 15 years ago. It’s high time for a brand new Spyro game, considering that even Crash Bandicoot received his own new instalment with 2020’s Crash Bandicoot 4 It’s About Time.
