The Boys Showrunner Wants To Make A Saga Comics Adaptation

The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke already has one successful adaptation of a comic book IP under his belt but he wants to add to that list. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he said that he dream project is an adaptation of Saga, a popular comic by the creative team of Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples and published by Image Comics.

Eric Kripke said:

“Saga, by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples. I’m obsessed with it. So insane and so grounded at the same time. Brian and Fiona, call me!”

Then, on Twitter, he added:

“Mostly this is my desperate campaign to get Brian K. Vaughn & @fionastaples to let me have the rights to #Saga. I’ll treat your baby well!”

The Saga comics feature Hazel and her star-crossed family on an adventure across the galaxy. It is best known for featuring great drama, emotion, thrills and of course, a lot of sex and violence (it’s obviously not for kids). Many have described it as Star Wars meets Game Of Thrones.

Saga has sold seven million copies to date, boasting multiple Eisner Awards, Harvey Awards, a Hugo Award, British Fantasy Award, Goodreads Choice Award, Shuster Award, Inkwell Award, Ringo Award, and more. The comic has become so popular that it has appeared in other pop culture mediums like TV shows, including Supernatural, The Big Bang Theory, and The Simpsons.

Saga is one of the best currently-ongoing comics that aren’t superhero-related, so if you’re looking for something refreshing and new to read, I definitely recommend Saga. Saga is available for purchase across many digital platforms, including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play.

The Boys Season 4 premieres sometime in 2024.

The Boys Season 3 concluded its eight-episode run on Amazon Prime Video in 2022. Recently, The Boys spinoff Gen V concluded its first season and has been renewed for Season 2.
