XDefiant Breaks Records & Addresses Player Concerns With First Patch Update

Ubisoft’s new First Person Shooter, XDefiant, has taken the gaming community by storm. The game reached an impressive milestone, becoming Ubisoft’s fastest title to hit 1 million unique players just two and a half hours after its launch.

With this rapid success, Ubisoft has been quick to address player feedback. The first patch update introduces several essential fixes, including improvements to the netcode and updates to the Practice Zone. Players who have been grinding since XDefiant’s release on 21 May have noted various issues, and it’s clear that Ubisoft is listening and acting swiftly.

Patch Highlights

  • Game Modes: Resolved an issue where players would spawn outside the playable area in the Practice Zone.
  • Devices: Fixed a bug where devices would drop at players’ feet if they died during the deployment animation, rather than being thrown as intended.
  • Netcode: Corrected the display of enemy health bars, ensuring hitmarkers now accurately reflect damage dealt.
  • Localisation: Adjusted the end-of-match UI text orientation for Arabic players.
  • Miscellaneous: The Practice Zone is back online, though minor glitches may still occur. Additionally, low framerate issues with some AMD GPUs have been fixed.

Double XP Weekend

While not included in the Patch Notes, Ubisoft has announced a Double Weapon XP weekend starting Friday, 24 May at 10 PM MYT / 10 AM PT, and running until Tuesday, 28 May at the same time. This extended event is great news for players, especially those who have found weapon levelling to be excessively time-consuming. The Double Weapon XP weekend offers a much-needed boost for players looking to progress faster.

Stay tuned for more updates as Ubisoft continues to refine and improve the XDefiant experience.
