The Creator Of Bloodborne 60FPS Patch Receives Takedown Notice From Sony
Sometimes people just don’t want a good thing to keep on going. Then again, there could be silver linings when big publishers want you to cease and desist something you’ve done using their IPs for pretty blatant reasons.
Such is the case of Sony Interactive Entertainment who recently sent over a DMCA takedown to one Lance McDonald. Why? Because of his patch for PS4 action RPG title Bloodborne which makes the game run at 60 frames per second, well above its intended 30fps rate cap. Check out how it works below.
The DMCA takedown from Sony Interactive Entertainment was sent to Lance McDonald on 31st January 2025. While it’s sad that fans of the game will need to comply to this request, this could also mean one thing: a Bloodborne remaster or re-release could be on the way.
If Sony Interactive Entertainment cared enough to send a takedown notice for a game to a sole modder, chances are the publisher wants no obstacles or “competitors” in the way. In the way of what could be a revamp of the 2015 action RPG title that people wanted to play again all along.
