Atlus has announced the next entry in the Shin Megami Tensei series; specifically a new entry in the Soul Hackers spinoff.

The game’s called Soul Hackers 2 and it’s going to be a multiplatform release in Japan and in the West. The game mixes demon-summoning with a science fiction setting; you play a hacker named Ringo decked in a yellow bright suit fighting with/against demons. The game features an open world to run in and turn-based combat with party members, as well as some demon fusing and powering-up in the mix. Here’s the official synopsis:

“In a war between devil summoners, it’s up to Ringo and her team to decrypt destiny and save the world from apocalypse! “

There’s also a limited edition version of the game up for preordering in Japan; it starts on 22nd February and features the following:

• Soul Hackers 2 Game (Physical Version for PS4, PS5)
• Soul Hackers 25th Anniversary Album (30 songs in 3 CDs): Arranged compositions by the Atlus Sound Team and composer MONACA featured in the game. An original album of 30 songs, including 20 modern arrangements of Soul Hackers songs and 10 soul jazz-style arrangements of the previous and modern songs.
• Soul Hackers 25th Anniversary Book: Over 100 pages of special features unraveling the history of the past 25 years, with an introduction of the series games, a newly drawn “Soul Hackers Visual Story”, staff interviews, various setting art, etc.
• AI Ho-kun” Figure: The main character, Ringo x Jack Frost! The fastest released model from this game’s original demon “AI Ho-kun.” It has a total length of about 8 cm, with a good sense of luxury in both texture and mass.
• Special Costume DLC “Mary Style Maid Clothes”: DLC that allows players to change the main character Ringo’s costume to that of the character “Mary,” who gained popularity in Soul Hackers.
• “AI Ho-kun DLC”:An additional demon DLC available for fusion of the new demon “AI Ho-kun.”

The game will be out for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC on 25 August 2022.
