God Of War Ragnarok Becomes Fastest-Selling First-Party Launch Game In PlayStation History

Sony Interactive Entertainment and Santa Monica Studio have announced that God Of War Ragnarok has broken the record for the fastest-selling first-party launch game in PlayStation history, having sold 5.1 million copies in its first week (five days) of release.

That’s mighty impressive, considering that God Of War Ragnarok originally launched for the PS5 and PS4 on 9 November 2022. In comparison, 2018’s God Of War only sold 3.1 million copies in its first three days after launching on 20 April 2018.

These days, the God Of War franchise is essentially the PlayStation’s equivalent of Xbox’s Halo or Nintendo’s Zelda. Console-sellers, that’s what they are.
