Did Blizzard Scrapped Plans For A Diablo 4 Video For BlizzCon 2018?

BlizzCon 2018 was fun, right? We had great Overwatch matches, some cool game announcements, and Diablo going mobile. Much to the chagrin of a lot of people online and on YouTube.

Amidst the many rumours and speculation, was there really going to be a Diablo 4 announcement? Or were there even plans for it before it was changed at the last minute? Well, the story’s easy to break down (via Kotaku).

-Blizzard recorded a video where co-founder Allen Adham talked about a new Diablo game.

Here is the company’s official statement:

“First off we want to mention that we definitely hear our community. We generally don’t comment on rumors or speculation, but we can say that we didn’t pull any announcements from BlizzCon this year or have plans for other announcements. We do continue to have different teams working on multiple unannounced Diablo projects, and we look forward to announcing when the time is right.”

-The video isn’t planned for BlizzCon 2018 at all. Two people familiar with Blizzard’s plans confirmed the aforementioned video, but the video is meant for the future.

-Yes, Diablo 4 is confirmed to be in development. But as usual, it won’t be announced so soon. According to sources, the game has gone through two different iterations under different directors, thus they cannot commit to an announcement.

Until then, we’ll be playing Diablo Immortal when it’s out. As wise men say, good things come to those who wait.
