Devil May Cry 5 Sold A 100,000+ Copies Within Three Days In Japan
What happens when you create a great game that upholds the legacy of your most-cherished game-changing franchise in your native country? You have a lot of sales, as evident in Devil May Cry 5’s opening numbers in Japan.
According to the Media Creates sales chart (via Gematsu), Capcom’s action game is at first place with 116,202 copies sold; PlayStation 4 version. This is followed by Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s 23,407 copies and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe’s 20,101 copies for the week of 4 March. That’s a lot of demon-killing action in the first three days since its release.
Time will tell if the game will be dominating the Japan charts for the whole of the month, but this is a pretty good indicator that Capcom’s on a roll. On a related note, check out our review and our guide.
