Malaysian Racer Nabs Rookie Win In Germany

During Rounds 11 and 12 at the ADAC TCR Germany at Hockenheimring, Malaysian racer Mitchell Cheah grabbed a win and solid points the penultimate race weekend for 2019
season, which took place from 14 to 15 September 2019.

Cheah began both races from 11th on the gridline after a gruelling qualifying session, but a great start and consistent performance awarded him a win in Round 11, his third of the whole season. He wavered a little in Round 12, finishing at 9th place.

The Sepang International Circuit Talent Development Program driver said:

“This week we struggled a little in the beginning to find the right setup but we managed to make big improvements in time for qualifying but it just wasn’t enough to keep up with the others.

The first race I had a good opportunity to finish top rookie, and that was what I was aiming for, and we managed to do so. The win was definitely one for the team for all the hard work they put in throughout this whole week.

I had a good start in race two but midway through the race I had some issues, not sure what it was but I just had no pace from there and was struggling through to the end.

Overall we knew this weekend would be tough but we managed to collect good points for the team and in the Rookie Championship we are still in the fight for it for the last round.”

He will be looking to give it his all in the final two races at the finale in Sachsenring taking place from 27 to 29 September 2019. Cheah will also be representing Sepang Circuit as its Wild Card entry in Races of Malaysia WTCR this December.
