XCOM-Like Narcos Game Gets Release Date

It was initially announced last month that the upcoming Netflix’s Narcos game will be tactical strategy turn-based titles, similar to Firaxis’ XCOM franchise. Now publisher Curve Digital and developer Kuju Entertainment have revealed the release dates of the game for each platform.

Narcos: Rise Of The Cartels will release digitally for the following platforms on the following dates:

  • PS4, PC (Steam): 19 November 2019
  • Nintendo Switch: 21 November 2019
  • Xbox One: 22 November 2019

However, players will have to wait for an unspecified amount of time until Q4 2019 for the physical version of the game. The upcoming game will allow players to relive the events of the first season of Netflix’s Narcos, taking the side of either the Medellin Cartel or the DEA in two distinct story campaigns.

Players can choose to either help the Narcos’ drug empire rise to the top under the watchful eye of El Patrón or topple the growing criminal enterprise alongside Steve Murphy as the DEA.

The game will also introduce its own unique mechanics into the XCOM-like gameplay, with the ability for units on both sides to move simultaneously and allowing players to take direct third-person command over their units during critical moments.

In the meantime, check out the release date trailer below.
