Corsair Acquires Controller Maestros SCUF Gaming

High-performance gaming and PC peripherals brand Corsair has acquired high-performance controller makers SCUF Gaming. The acquisition is expected to be finalised by the end of December 2019.

SCUF Gaming is best known for making third-party high-performance luxury controllers for major gaming brands like PlayStation, Xbox, and for the PC. Their controllers are often modular by feature and design, built to individual specs and making it possible for players to gain an advantage in competitive gaming.

Corsair CEO and founder Andy Paul said:

“We are thrilled to greatly expand our portfolio of industry-leading peripherals and enter the gaming controller space to help gamers play at their best.

SCUF leads the market for performance controllers and are a key ingredient to the success of countless esports professionals.

SCUF will make an excellent and winning addition to the vast lineup of award-winning CORSAIR and Elgato products.”

SCUF Gaming is actually Corsair’s second major acquisition in 2019 alone, after acquiring another PC peripherals brand earlier this year in July; Origin PC. Elgato (known for their gaming products for streaming and such) has also been owned by Corsair since 2018.

While SCUF Gaming will be under Corsair, they will continue to operate from their HQ in Atlanta and other regional offices. All existing SCUF Gaming warranties, purchases, and support will remain unaffected, as they will continue to be provided by SCUF Gaming themselves.

In the meantime, check out the awesome announcement trailer from Corsair below.
