Shredder Is Coming To Call Of Duty

Call of Duty just dropped a teaser vid confirming that Shredder will be a playable character in Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2.0.

If you’re a fan of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, you know Shredder as the big baddie, but he’s not exactly known for his love of firearms. Still, a cross-promotion is a cross-promotion.

From what we know about past celebrity Operators like Snoop Dogg, Rambo and John McClane, Shredder will probably come as part of a purchasable Operator Bundle, complete with his own voice lines and challenges. There may even be some Shredder (or TMNT) themed cosmetics thrown in. Not sure who will be voicing him, but the most recent Shredder voice actor was Hoon Lee in Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Just a heads up: the new Seth Rogen-produced TMNT movie, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, released its cast list recently and Shredder ain’t in it. However, the cast is still pretty impressive, with names like Rogen, Jackie Chan, John Cena, Ice Cube, and Post Malone attached. The movie comes out in August, and it has a pretty distinctive art style that doesn’t look much like the teaser vid above. Long story short, we don’t know much about the Shredder situation yet, but we do know that the skin will be available on March 21.

The TMNT universe has a history of colliding with video games, with characters appearing in everything from Injustice 2 to Smite. Last year’s Shredder’s Revenge was especially awesome, with our reviewer describing it as a “heartfelt, engaging reprise of a classic”.
