Doom Eternal Will Not Have Microtransactions
Buying a triple-A game is pricey these days, so it’s good to know that developers and publishers are resisting the urge to nickel and dime customers. Well, most of them.
So it’s nice that Doom Eternal‘s publisher, Bethesda, isn’t implementing some sort of microtransaction into their games. According to id Software creative director Hugo Martin, he said that there would be no shop or double-dipping when it comes to cosmetics.
You can unlock all skins in the game by paying with in-game earned XP. The cosmetics won’t affect the way the Doom Slayer/Doom Guy plays; it’s all aesthetics.
“Doom Eternal is a US460 game, not a free-to-play game or a mobile game – we are giving you a complete experience with no store just like you’d expect.”
Doom Eternal will be out 20th March. Stay tuned for a preview of that in the near future.
