Patapon 2 Gets Remastered For The PS4
By Burhan Zamri|January 28, 2020|0 Comment
The portable console market is currently dominated by the Nintendo Switch with the PSP or PS Vita nowhere to be seen. Back then, we’d get awesome games like the rhythmic god game Patapon and its two sequels. Well, it looks like we’re getting another encore.
[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w186xFg91_A&w=560&h=315]Completely out of nowhere, Patapon 2 Remastered has been announced for the PS4. It will be released on 30 January 2020 exclusively on the PlayStation Store. The announcement was made by Sony Interactive Entertainment producer Nick Accordino on the PlayStation Blog.
The game is a complete 4K remaster containing all of the original game’s missions and features. If you’ve never heard of Patapon, worry not. A remaster of the first Patapon was released in 2018 and can also be bought on the PlayStation Store.
Patapon 2‘s gameplay remains largely unchanged compared to the first game. You use rhythmic commands such “Pata” and “Pon” to order your army of Patapons (yep, that’s what they’re called) to fight your enemies.
Now all that’s left is to remaster Patapon 3 which was originally released in 2011. Following the current trend, I suppose we can expect to see Patapon 3 Remastered coming out in 2022. Fingers crossed.
Patapon 2 Remastered will be sold on the PlayStation Store for US$14.99 (~RM60) starting from 30 January 2020.
