The Studio That Helped Make Rust And Crackdown 3 Is Expanding To Malaysia
By Burhanudin Zamri|January 22, 2020|0 Comment
What do games like Crackdown 3, Goat Simulator, and Limbo have in common? The answer is UK game studio Double Eleven. The studio isn’t the primary developer for any of those games but contributed in a lot in the development process.
Great news for video game developers in Malaysia, Double Eleven is opening a new office in Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur. Similar to Larian Studios, they’re aiming to reduce crunch by operating in different time zones across the world.
“Our Malaysian studio will be there to support and bolster the incredible teams we have working in the UK. The Asian market is a huge player on the global stage, and we want to be at the vanguard of this exciting new hotbed of our industry.”
– Lee Hutchinson, CEO of Double Eleven.
The new studio will only be opening in spring 2020. For those of you interested in joining them, they’ve already put up job listings for the Malaysian office. Recruitment is expected to begin in February 2020.
With more international video game studios such as Double Eleven, Larian Studios, and Sony Interactive Entertainment making new homes here in Malaysia, it definitely brings a smile to my face. Local gamers and game developers now have a lot more to look forward to.
Thanks, Venture Beat.
