Ubisoft CEO Makes Formal Apology Ahead Of Ubisoft Forward

Just several hours ahead of Ubisoft’s second Ubisoft Forward presentation in 2020, the company’s CEO Yves Guillemot gave a formal apology in a roughly four-minute-long video.

On behalf of Ubisoft, he apologized for everyone who has been hurt and affected by cases of harassment and racism instigated by “certain Ubisoft employees”. This is the first formal apology made by directly by Guillemot himself.

Guillemot also said that the company fully supports the Black Lives Matter movement, and will focus on “improving diversity and inclusivity at all levels”, including investing an additional one million dollars over the next five years in the company’s graduate program.

The formal apology video comes after the company was rocked by allegations of sexual misconduct, harassment, and workplace toxicity for the past few months. It remains to be seen if anything will truly change at Ubisoft, but it seems like the company may already be taking the first steps towards that.

Stay tuned for our coverage of the Ubisoft Forward September 2020 presentation later today.
