DC Universe Online Devs Are Working On A Marvel MMO

According to the Q3 2021 financial report investor presentation from Enad Global 7, developer Dimension Ink is currently working on an unannounced MMORPG based on Marvel IP. The studio is best known for developing DC Universe Online and being a subsidiary of Daybreak Game Studio.

The same report reveals that the unannounced Marvel MMO is being led by Jack Emmert. He designed City Of Heroes and currently leads development on DC Universe Online. However, it sounds like the project is still in early development and listed under “longer-term” project, scheduled for after 2022.

If that’s the case, the game probably won’t be out until 2023 at the earliest. At the time of writing, Daybreak, Marvel, and Dimensional Ink have yet to officially confirm or deny the reports. Still, there’s technically already a Marvel MMO available to play right now, albeit on mobile platforms.

The game I’m talking about is Marvel Future Revolution. If you’re hankering for what a Marvel MMO might be like, check it out on the App Store and Google Play. You can also check out my hands-on preview of the game by heading over here. Besides that, there was also the Marvel Heroes MMO (which is where the featured image of this article comes from), which launched back in 2013. However, it was later shut down and made unplayable when developer Gazillion Entertainment stopped operations.
