Marvel’s Midnight Suns Delayed To Second Half Of 2022

2K Games and Firaxis have announced that it’s delaying Marvel’s Midnight Suns, the upcoming strategy RPG game that combines X-COM with card mechanics. And also the X-Men and some of Marvel’s finest.

Firaxis’ creative director Jake Solomon said that the game needed more work to be the best version of itself, so the company and its publishers are delaying the game to the second half of 2022, according to a Twitter post.

“We know many fans were looking forward to playing the game originally next spring, and this decision did not come lightly. We decided to push our launch because we need more time to make this the best game possible. We believe in our creative vision for Marvel’s Midnight Suns and want to do justice in delivering an unforgettable adventure set in the supernatural side of Marvel. These extra months will be used to add more story, cinematics, and overall polish and will be essential in helping us make our vision a reality.”

This seems like the wisest move, considering that March 2022 and the first half of the year by association is already really packed with new titles like Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, Saints Row, Elden RIng, Dying Light 2, and more. As strong as the Marvel brand is, it’s easy for even high profile games to get lost in the shuffle. We’ll just have to wait a little longer for our superhero-filled tactics game featuring the new Ghost Rider.
