No Straight Roads Developers Announces Audio-Centric Game Ondeh Ondeh

Metronomik, the folks behind the acclaimed 2020 action music game No Straight Roads, has announced its new upcoming title named after Malaysia’s famous klepon snack: Ondeh Ondeh. 

Ondeh Ondeh is billed as a fantastical audio-centric game. Based on the trailer, it’s looking like a 3D action-adventure title with most likely some platforming, puzzles, and obstacles to solve and defeat.

Here’s the full overview from Metronomik co-founders Wan Hazmer and Daim Dziuauddin:

Ondeh Ondeh will be an audio-centric game but in a totally different manner from No Straight Roads. It will also be set in a weirder and fantastical context.

Named after a Malaysian dessert of the same name, Ondeh Ondeh will provide players with a charming story that intertwines beautifully with captivating amounts of exploration, art, and Malaysian culture.

Thanks to the warm reception worldwide, we now have the confidence to go all-out with our Malaysian culture for Ondeh Ondeh.

Here’s the debut teaser for the game, along with a ton of design talk and concept from Metronomik, so do check it out! The game is currently in production, so there’s no release date/window/platform as of yet.

Update [8/11/2021]: Metronomik also released the game’s OST concept piece straight out of the debut teaser. The music is done by Falk Au Yeong, with its Bansuri performance by Kristin Naigus.
