Sony Playstation Teases What’s Next On 2023, Possibly New PS5 Model?
By Ali'sha Harris|December 20, 2022|0 Comment
In the latest interview between the Japanese gaming site, Famitsu and Sony Interactive Entertainment Vice President, Hideaki Nishino may have teased a new Playstation 5 model that could be announced and/or released in 2023.
Famitsu stated the PS5 will be entering its third year, which was after the PS4 Pro released its third year as well. Would there be a new model for the PS5 version in the upcoming future? Nishino responded with Sony’s current plans and thoughts on the coming year:
“By the end of fiscal 2022, cumulative sales will exceed 37 million units, and we believe that it will be a very important time for the platform as well. I won’t be able to talk about specifics at this time, but I hope you will look forward to next year (2023).”
According to reports, there were many PS5 Pro rumours. One of them is a removable disc driver model and is already in the hands of a few developers, allowing Sony to sell the PS5 variant using the same price tag as the Digital version, and launch the disc driver as a separate accessory. In addition, rumours have been speculated the next model would be a slim version, indicating the PS5 Slim would be a possible release since the PS4 Slim exists. The removable disc driver would make sense with the PS4 Slim but for now, everything is just speculation, so do take it with a grain of salt.
2023 may introduce the 4th iteration of the PS5 console and is expected to be the most spectacular console revision yet. Which model do you think will be released in 2023? Let us know what you think in the comment section below.
