Best Steam Next Fest February 2024 SEA Game Demos: Our Picks & Highlights
Steam Next Fest is a week-long celebration featuring free playable demos, as well as developer livestreams and chats. It’s returning from today until 2am GMT+8 on 13 February 2024.
But how do you navigate through the sea of games on Steam?
By checking out our picks and highlights with games from Southeast Asian developers below:
Narrative adventure game Until Then from Modus Games and Filipino developer Polychroma will launch for PS5 and PC sometime in 2024.
In a world still recovering from catastrophe, Mark Borja and his friends navigate the joys and woes of another year of high school. Wake up in a typical teenage bedroom, practice piano, race to meet homework deadlines, and build (and burn) relationships, as you reminisce about the daily insecurities of high school life.
That is, until a fateful meeting sets off a chain reaction, upending Mark’s life. People disappear and memories prove unreliable. Uncover a hidden truth with Mark and his friends in this narrative adventure and race to unravel the mystery before it’s too late.
Players will meet a diverse and achingly familiar cast of characters to converse with in person, over text, and through email. Get to know them, build relationships, flunk group projects, and watch how their individual personal stories unfold alongside yours.
Until Then definitely reminds us of last year’s A Space For The Unbound by Indonesian developer Mojiken Studio. Will this be this year’s A Space For The Unbound (check out our full review here)? We’ll have to wait and see.
Midwest 90 Rapid City from Hidden Chest Studios is a single-player, story-focused survival- tycoon game, where you build your all-American restaurant that serves Monster Meat Dishes and protect it from monster attacks.
Katana Rama is a mobility-based, fast-paced action game where you play as a hacker program, with the mission of breaking out of a digital security system. Lay waste to all that stands in your way.
For those who aren’t familiar with the game, GigaBash is an arena brawler featuring four players as giant monsters inspired by classic kaiju battling it out in cities and exotic places around the world.
In the meantime, check out our review here or head on over here for our guide to unlocking more Titans in the game.
This one we’ve been looking at since it first got on our radar! An interesting serene city-builder that mixes puzzles in a fun way. You get to build your own planet, protect it from natural disasters and mix up different biomes. The game is truly different from all the other city-builders out there, and I highly recommend taking a go at it while you can!
