Disney Sets Definitive 2026 Release Dates For Mandalorian & Grogu, Toy Story 5 & Live-Action Moana
In a surprise announcement, Disney has set definitive release dates for several of their upcoming major movies, including delaying the live-action Moana movie by one whole year.
Here are the release dates (via The Hollywood Reporter):
- Nightbitch – 6 December 2024
- The Amateur – 11 April 2025
- Tron Ares – 10 October 2025
- The Mandalorian & Grogu – 22 May 2026
- Toy Story 5 – 19 June 2026
- Live-Action Moana Movie – 10 July 2026 (Delayed from 27 June 2025)
In 2023, Disney previously announced that a live-action Moana movie is in the works.
Directed by Jon Favreau, and produced by Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, and Dave Filoni, The Mandalorian & Grogu will go into production in 2024.
The Mandalorian & Grogu will lead Lucasfilm’s ongoing feature-development slate, including films helmed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, James Mangold, and Dave Filoni, who is also currently developing Ahsoka Season 2, among those in the works.
This movie is apparently in addition to the is three previously-announced Star Wars movies currently in development.
