Created by Jon Watts and Chris Ford, the brand-new Star Wars story introduces a crew of murderous pirates in the era of the New Republic and six new characters — Jod (Jude Law), Wim (Ravi Cabot-Conyers), Fern (Ryan Kiera Armstrong), KB (Kyriana Kratter), Neel (Robert Timothy Smith), and SM-33 (Nick Frost) — on a rollicking journey among the stars.

It’s been a good year for Star Wars fans. Star Wars The Bad Batch Season 3 premiered in February 2024, Star Wars Tales Of The Empire in May 2024 and Star Wars The Acolyte in June 2024.

Check out my spoiler-free review of Star Wars The Acolyte by heading over here. Check out my breakdown of Star Wars The Acolyte Episodes 1 and 2, Episode 3, Episode 4, Episode 5, Episode 6, Episode 7 and Episode 8 here.

The Pirates Reach At Attin Before The Kids

The pirates then manage to tractor-beam the kids’ ship, the Onyx Cinder, into their ship.

Jod Kills Captain Brutus And Takes Over The Pirates Again

That was brutal. Jod is showing his true colours.

The droid SM-33 later helps the kids escape the pirates.

Jod Uses The Lightsaber To Kill SM-33

It’s been several episodes since Jod took that lightsaber so we were wondering when he would be using it.

RIP SM-33. He will be missed.

Jod Finds The Mint

By pretending to be a Republic Emissary.

Will Jod Kill The Kids Like Anakin Killed The Jedi Younglings?

Uh oh.

What’s interesting is that this shot mirrors and is probably a tribute to the same shot from Star Wars Episode III Revenge Of The Sith, when Anakin Skywalker killed the Jedi Younglings during Order 66.

We only have one episode left and that’s the season 1 finale.

Until next week, may the Force be with you!
