Another One Piece Musou Game Is Coming Out Next Year

Bandai Namco, Koei Tecmo, and Omega Force have announced yet another One Piece musou game, and it’s coming out next year. One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 was revealed at the Anime Expo 2019 last weekend during Bandai Namco’s ‘Play Anime’ panel.

According to the game’s description on the official website, One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 follows:

“Luffy and the Straw Hats from the beginning as they make their journey through different islands and onwards in the hopes of finding the illustrious treasure—the One Piece.”

That doesn’t exactly tell us much about the upcoming game, but sequels to action musou games (and musou games in general) usually don’t feature many differences or improvements, other than the addition of new characters and story content. The gameplay pretty much retains the same one-man army hack-and-slash mechanics.

One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 is slated to release for the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC sometime in 2020. In the meantime, check out the trailer below, where a kaiju-sized Luffy goes up against a similarly-gigantic woman with a sword.
