FFXIV: Shadowbringers Guide: What’s Next After The Main Story?

So you’ve finally completed the main scenario of Shadowbringers, the third in Square Enix’s line of lengthy expansions for Final Fantasy XIV. With the dust settled and the tyranny of Light vanquished from the land of The First, now sounds like as good a time as any to give yourself a nice pat on the back and enjoy a quiet break.

But don’t rest for too long, because even with the world saved, new threats and troubles are constantly cropping up to test the Warrior of Light and Darkness.

There are still lots for you to do in this expansion, even after the credits have rolled. Be it harder battles or just more things to grind for, Shadowbringers’ endgame content is sure to keep you busy.

Take on Role Quests

xivrolequests.jpg

If you’ve just completed the main story, you’re bound to be familiar with Role Quests. In the story’s final stretch, you’ll partake in one of four unique questlines as a requirement for continuing further.

Telling the tale of a fallen hero of The First, these quests correspond to each of the four party roles in FFXIV. Say you finished Shadowbringers as a White Mage, then you’ll have done so through the Healer side of Role Quests. Likewise, tanks, physical DPS, and magical DPS have their own stories for you to follow.

Should you ever plan on starting these questlines, you’ll find them find them all bunched together near The Wandering Star within the Crystarium.
