The Legend Of Dragoon

Back in 1999/2000, Sony was promoting The Legend Of Dragoon as a ‘Final-Fantasy killer’ RPG of sorts. It was certainly ambitious, developed by SCE Japan Studio and produced by a young Shuhei Yoshida, with music by Dennis Martin and Takeo Miratsu. It became a cult classic but never reached the heights it aimed for.
It introduced a twist to the conventional turn-based JRPG combat by featuring a system of combos and counter-attacks which focused on precision timing and the risks/rewards that come with it. To this day, fans of the game are clamouring for a sequel, though that is unlikely to happen.
