The Top 50 NPCs In Video Games History

#11. The Minister In The Heretic’s Mansion – Shin Megami Tensei III onwards

Without this guy and his services, you won’t be able to fuse demons and create a powerful army to deal with the insanely tough battles in the game.

#12. Elena – Uncharted series

Elena is the true love interest of Uncharted protagonist Nathan Drake. She’s his anchor, so to speak. Without her, Nathan would have lost his way years ago, and become an evil pirate or something.

#13. Sully – Uncharted series

Sully is Nathan Drake’s father figure. He’s pretty much his Jonathan Kent, and the one who raised him to be the man he is today.

#14. Cadis the Fairy – Breath of Fire III

T his tiny nude fairy helps you with the micro-managing of arguably the most-detailed faeries village simulation located in a JRPG. You’ll get goodies if you make the best damn fairy village ever, so you should make it a point to talk to her and help her kin out.

#15. Kuroko – Samurai Shodown Series

The referee who doesn’t do squat save notifies the audience in-game over who wins and who loses, and when to start a swordfight. Drabbed in black, he’s there just for decorum, but somehow he gets some fanfare just for the way he officiates slaughter sports in the Shogunate era.

#16. Professor Oak РPok̩mon series

Your mentor when you start off your Pokemon adventures to be the best. Something tells us Ash’s mom and he has a thing going on, at least where the anime is concerned. And I don’t mean the friends-only kind.

#17. Emile – Halo: Reach

With his skull-painted helmet on and his penchant for shotguns and close-quarter combat, he helps your squad out combat the Covenant invasion at Reach.

#18 Alyx – Half-Life 2

Half-Life-Alyx

A close friend and ally of Gordon Freeman, she is a prominent figure in the Half-Life universe who combats the Combine alien race along with her fellow resistance members. Back in the day, her context-sensitive responses and behaviours were the highlight of Half-Life 2, so it’s easy to see why she’s a crowd favourite.

We may have to remove her from this list once her VR game is out, but for now, she’s considered a pinnacle in AI companions in shooters way before your Modern Warfares and your Bioshock Infinites.

#19. Tom Nook –Animal Crossing Series

tomnook_01.jpg

The landlord and money collector of the Animal Crossing series, his seemingly positive demeanour hides a sinister motive and intent. His deadpan eyes are ever-gazing to your Animal Crossing creation, waiting for his rent.

#20. Rodin – Bayonetta series

He’s introduced as a merchant from Hell that sells you things. He’s also the most powerful being in the Bayonetta universe and you can unlock a secret boss fight to go against him. I mostly like him for his funny lines such as “Hey, check this out: “Whadda ya buyin’?” Hehehe, heard that in a game once.”
