Archie Comics’ Victor Gorelick Has Died

Archie Comics’ editor in chief Victor Gorelick has passed away. He was 78 and is survived by his wife and family.

Here’s the official statement from the company:

“No person embodied the Archie spirit more than Victor, who was a leader, friend, and mentor to everyone that walked through the doors of Archie.

A lifelong friend and mentor to Archie Comics Co-CEO, Jon Goldwater—and an inspiration to the entire Archie Comics family—Victor will never be forgotten.”

Fans are familiar with the name Victor Gorelick. After all, he’s the editor who approved such masterpieces like the Sonic & Mega Man crossover, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic featuring a bunch of Archie Comic-created characters from outer space, and the clusterf*** TV show known as Riverdale.

Thanks to him, the company has experienced a ton of big moments and bright ideas within the Archie and Sabrina pantheon. He will definitely be missed.
