Cyberpunk 2077’s DLC Will Be At Least As Many As The Witcher 3’s

The Witcher 3 wasn’t simply limited to a massive base game; CD Projekt Red also gave players two sizeable expansions and 16 free DLC. For the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077, it seems that players can expect a similar amount of DLC.

In a Polish investor Q&A translated by Video Games Chronicle, CD Projekt president Adam KiciÅ„ski revealed that the cyberpunk game will have “no less DLC than The Witcher 3 had”. In addition, he said that the timing of the announcements will be similar to The Witcher 3‘s, which announced its DLCs three months before release and the expansions several weeks before release.

The Witcher 3‘s expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, provided around 30-40 hours of gameplay in total, with Blood and Wine also introducing a new location called Toussaint. Cyberpunk 2077‘s expansions will probably have that many hours of combined playtime too, though I’m not sure what new locations they can provide.

Even without the DLC, Cyberpunk 2077 looks set to be a chunky game on its own. A few months ago, a Reddit user who took part in a CD Projekt Q&A revealed that Cyberpunk 2077′s main story will be “a little shorter” than The Witcher 3‘s, but will have a lot more replayability. In addition, that playtime estimate didn’t take into account the game’s encounters and smaller quests.

While size isn’t everything, the generous DLC plan definitely gives us one more reason to be excited for Cyberpunk 2077. As for the base game, CD Projekt Red previously confirmed that it’s still on track for its September release. A next-gen version, however, won’t be coming so soon.
