FC Copenhagen’s Mo Daramy Wins FIFA 20 Stay And Play Cup
By Alleef Ashaari|April 20, 2020|0 Comment
Last week, EA and FIFA announced the EA SPORTS FIFA 20 Stay And Play Cup, where professional football athletes would go head-to-head with each other, bringing together 20 of the most famous and historic clubs in Europe as they play FIFA 20 in an esports tournament from 16 to 20 April 2020.
The tournament is now over, and we have the champion. Surprisingly, it’s not a player from Liverpool, Chelsea, or any of the ‘bigger’ clubs amongst the twenty who participated. Instead, FC Copenhagen’s Mohamed Daramy emerged victorious in the grand final against DjurgÃ¥rden’s Jesper Karlstrom, beating him 2-1.

To reach the grand final, Mo Daramy had to defeat HJK Helsinki’s Nikolai Alho in his first-round matchup, Ajax’s Sergino Dest in the Round of 16, and FC Porto’s Fabio Silva in the quarter-final, before beating AIK’s Nabil Bahoui in the semi-final.
It’s worth pointing out that Mo Daramy is currently only below 65 OVR in FIFA 20 FUT (FIFA Ultimate Team). Perhaps he’ll receive a rating or stat boost after having won an entire tournament (even though it’s esports and not the real thing).

The FIFA 20 Stay and Play Cup helped raise money for Global Giving’s Coronavirus Relief Fund, with EA alone having donated US$1 million to the organization. Recently, the NBA 2K Players Tournament also took place, with Phoenix Suns’ Devin Booker becoming the champion of the esports competition between pro basketball players.
