Leon Kennedy’s Original Voice Actor Has Passed Away

Paul Haddad, the voice actor for the original Resident Evil 2‘s Leon Kennedy, passed away earlier this month. The news was announced on Twitter last Friday by Daymare: 1998 developer Invader Studio, who had worked with Haddad for their Resident Evil-inspired game.

“Paul Haddad, our dear friend and an icon among the RE community, has passed away recently.” they wrote. “We’ve been truly honoured to have the chance to meet and work with such a great man and a brilliant professional that He was. Rest in Peace Paul… You will live forever in our hearts.”

Earlier today, the Capcom Dev 1 Twitter page tweeted, “With great sadness we learned of the passing of Paul Haddad, voice of Leon Kennedy in the original Resident Evil 2. We fondly remember Paul’s great work bringing one of Resident Evil’s most beloved characters to life, and offer our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.”

Aside from his role as Kennedy, Haddad provided the voice of Cleaner in Daymare: 1998. According to his IMDb page, he also lent his voice to shows like X-Men: The Animated Series, The Adventures of Tintin, and Mythic Warriors: Guardians of the Legend. Haddad was 56.
