AESF Launches #YourHomeYourArena Campaign To Combat COVID-19

Amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF) is launching the Your Home, Your Arena (YHYA) campaign, with the objective of connecting and uniting the esports community through social media and online tournaments.

The YHYA campaign will also aid communities impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic through esports activities, crowdfunding and fundraisers while encouraging everyone to stay home, stay safe and practice social distancing.

The two main activities of the YHYA campaign include the Your Home, Your Arena Charity Cup invitational tournament, which involves two game titles; Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and The King of Fighters. The other is the Your Home, Your Arena Charity Fundraising for collecting public donations in order to help affected communities.

Confirmed participating countries from the Southeast Asian region include Brunei, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, and Thailand. Member associations of the AESF will also provide assistance in the form of participants, localized promotions as well as networking activities.

The Your Home, Your Arena Charity Cup invitational tournament will begin on 4 June 2020 and all matches will be streamed live on YouTube, Twitch and Facebook Live. The Quarter-finals draw can be seen below:

AESF President Kenneth Fok said:

“At the AESF, we are very aware of this predicament thus the initiative in the form of the Your Home, Your Arena campaign.

Through this initiative, we hope to harness the spirit of the Esports community for something which would benefit those beyond our immediate circle.

No effort is too small and I welcome everyone to play an important part in this.

I would also like to thank again the athletes, our members, and publishers SNK and Moonton,

for providing a platform and hands through games like Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and The King of Fighters to continue our efforts to support our wider community as members of society.”

Meanwhile, GIVE.asia will be operating as the ‘Official Charity Fundraising Platform’ for the YHYA campaign. It’s an online portal hosting multiple causes to raise funding for vulnerable communities who have been adversely impacted by the global pandemic.

This collaboration with GIVE.asia will allow the AESF to actively spread the message of the campaign, as well as reach out to both Esports and non-Esports communities. Those interested to contribute and donate to those affected by COVID-19 can do so by heading here.
