Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire Episode 2 Showcases Lifepaths, Music & Weapons

The second episode of Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire live stream presentation took place earlier tonight, where CD Projekt Red unveiled more details and information about the upcoming highly-anticipated game.

Lifepaths

At the beginning of the game, players can choose from three different backstories and backgrounds; Street Kid, Nomad and Corpo. However, these will only mostly affect your starting point in the game, as well as offer additional unique dialogue options according to the lifepath players have chosen.

For example, choosing the Corpo background will give players advantages when dealing with corporate stuff, while those with a Street Kid background will benefit from their street smarts when surviving in the seedy underbelly of Night City.

If you choose to be a Nomad, you’ll start the beginning of the game outside of Night City, in the outskirts called the Badlands. However, this area will still be fully playable and freely explorable for players who choose Street Kid or Corpo.

Music

In the game, Johhny Silverhand (Keanu Reeves’ character) has a band called Samurai, and players will listen to their songs performed in the game. If you can’t wait, you can already listen to four songs from the fictional band on Spotify right now, one track of which (titled A Like Supreme) just released today.

Weapons

There seem to be many varieties of both ranged and melee weapons in Cyberpunk 2077, but the second episode of Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire focused on the guns.

There are three distinct types of guns in the game; Power, Tech and Smart.

Power guns are similar to contemporary guns, using normal bullets. Their advantage is that the bullets can ricochet off walls and hard objects. Tech guns use electromagnetic bullets that can pierce metal, while Smart guns use guided missile tech that can track enemies.

Since Cyberpunk 2077 is still an RPG at heart, players can improve their shooting by increasing stats that contribute to faster reload times, faster aiming, less recoil, and more.

While weapons can be bought at vendors in Night City, the best weapons must be taken from enemies and loot caches around the city. Weapons also come in rarities, from uncommon to rare and even legendary.

Legendary weapons are unique but they can only be obtained through specific side quests and certain decisions in the game.

In addition, players can also look forward to installing weapon modifications. There are attachments like scopes and silencers, as well as software mods that increase stats like increased damage, increased firing rate or even add chemical damage to rounds.
