CoD Data Miners Finds A Different Kind of Gem

With games that function as a live service of sorts with drips of content over time, data miners and leakers have taken it upon themselves to discover and reveal whatever’s coming to our favourite games. This includes Treyarch’s Call Of Duty Black Ops Cold War, which isn’t even officially out yet.

However, it looks like developers have grown smart to their tactics, and Treyarch is probably the first to have ever trolled these leakers at their own game. Imagine their surprise when they discovered something hidden in the Call Of Duty Black Ops Cold War executable file.

What is it? They just got rick rolled, folks. We’re not kidding.

Hidden inside the game files are actual working links that lead those data miners and leakers directly to Rick Astley’s now-infamous “Never Gonna Give You Up” music video on YouTube.

It’s hilarious and goes to show that the developers are just people with a sense of humour as well. In the meantime, today (19 October 2020) is the last day for the Call Of Duty Black Ops Cold War.

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War is slated to release for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC via Battle.net on 13 November 2020, and for PS5 and Xbox Series X sometime this holiday.
