PS5 Games Won’t Support PS VR

Sorry, PlayStation VR fans. Sony has confirmed (via UploadVR) that the PS5 does not support PS VR. Instead, the device will only be backwards-compatible on the next-gen console.

The Sony representative also said that we’re at least a few years away for a true PS VR update on the PS5, and they have not announced any PS VR titles for the PS5 as of yet.

For instance, the PS5 versions of Hitman 3 and No Man’s Sky won’t support PS VR, even though the PS4 versions do.

However, current owners of PS VR will still be able to use PS VR on the PS5 via a free adaptor (but only to play PS4 games, mind you), which you can claim for Sony by heading to this website.

It’s bad news for PS VR fans, certainly, but VR was never the focus of next-gen gaming. Just like motion gaming before it, it remains a niche in the gaming community.
