PlayStation Now Is Adding 1080p Streaming Support This Week
By Alleef Ashaari|April 23, 2021|0 Comment
Sony has announced that they will begin rolling out support for 1080p streaming on the cloud game service PlayStation Now beginning this week, increasing the streaming quality from the cloud gaming service’s previous 720p cap. This is a big leap.
In a tweet, Sony said:
“The rollout will occur over the next several weeks across Europe, US, Canada, and Japan, where PlayStation Now is available.”

However, Sony has yet to specify which games can hit 1080p. PlayStation Now is actually a bit late to the party, considering that Amazon’s Luna already supports 1080p, while Google’s Stadia can hit up to a whopping 4K resolution. Meanwhile, Microsoft is testing 1080p support for Xbox Cloud Gaming (xCloud). Another problem is that PlayStation Now is not yet available in many countries.
