The PS5 Has More Than 25 Games In Development Under PlayStation Studios

It’s super hard to get a PS5 even more than six months after its original launch, but at least you’ll rest assured that more exclusives are still on their way.

In an interview with Wired, PlayStation Studios head Herman Hulst confirmed that they currently have more than 25 titles in development for the PS5 and that almost half of them will be brand new IP.

He said:

“There’s an incredible amount of variety originating from different regions.

Big, small, different genres.”

These include:

  • A mysterious game from Jade Raymond’s Haven Studios.
  • An unannounced multiplayer title from Firewalk Studios.
  • Ember Lab’s Kena Bridge Of Spirits.
  • An unannounced game from Ember Lab.

The same report by Wired also confirmed that Guerilla Games’ Horizon Forbidden West is still coming to both PS4 and PS5 sometime in 2021.

The most recent first-party PS5 exclusive was Housemarque’s Returnal; an excellent third-person roguelike action bullet hell game (you can check out my review here). The next closest first-party title will be Insomniac Games’ Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart, which will release exclusively for the PS5 on 11 June 2021.

In the meantime, you can check out my in-depth and no-holds-barred thoughts on the PS5 after having it for more than a month. However, if you’re looking for a more straightforward review, you should head on over here instead.
